The Department of Public Works and Highways Northern Samar 2nd District Engineering Office (DPWH-NSSDEO) has reset its date of transfer to its new office in the second district of Northern Samar.

District Engineer Ferdinand Briones said the final phase of work in the construction of the new office building in Brgy. Burabod, Laoang are all indoor activities like fixing of windows and doorways. These are being fast tracked by the contractor to ensure that NSSDEO will be able to transfer by the third quarter of this year. At present, the construction of the office building is 95% completed.

Since its creation in 2001, NSSDEO has been holding office in the capital town of Catarman, first district of the province. However higher officials of the Department directed the NSSDEO management to transfer office to its actual area of jurisdiction.

Subsequently, Congressman Emil L. Ong offered to donate a lot located in Barangay Burabud of the municipality of Lao-ang as site of the new NSSDEO office building.

Soon, the funding allocation was approved and the NSSDEO 2-storey office building is now a reality and has finally become the permanent address of the DPWH-Northern Samar 2nd District Engineering Office.
