The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) on Friday, March 29, 2019 inaugurated two (2) road widening projects in Barangay South Triangle, Quezon City.
Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar led the ceremonial inauguration of the newly-rehabilitated and widened 1-kilometer section of Samar Street as well as the 229-linear meter 11th Jamboree Street.
“I’m glad to be here to witness the inauguration of these road improvement projects that can serve as an alternate route to the congested Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) and benefit thousands of motorists, said Secretary Villar.
“Widening from two (2) lanes to four (4) lanes of these roads could ease traffic in Quezon City as Samar Street is located in parallel while 11th Jamboree Street links directly to EDSA,” added Secretary Villar.
According to Secretary Villar, completed section of Samar Street starts from Timog Avenue and ends in Mother Ignacia Street while the 11th Jamboree Street project with improved drainage canals begins from Timog Avenue up to EDSA.
DPWH Quezon City District Engineering Office implemented the road widening and improvement projects for Samar Street and Jamboree Street in the amount of P57.87 and P14.65 million respectively.
