In observance of International Women’s Month, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office 6 kicked-off its month-long celebration by distributing customized pins and tokens to all women during the Monday flag raising ceremony.
By virtue of Republic Act 6949 series of 1990, March 8 of every year is declared as National Women’s Day, while Proclamation No. 227 series of 1998 encourages the observance of March as “Women’s Role in History Month.”
DPWH Regional Office 6 aims to heighten the awareness of all employees on the significance of ensuring that women in our society will not be left behind in pursuit of works and system of activities in the Department’s exhibition of projects and programs.
