Final inspection of the Kennon Task Force Committee was conducted on February 13, 2019 in preparation for the Temporary Opening of Kennon Road on February 14, 2019 at 6:00AM.

The group, headed by OCD-CAR Commo. Albert Mogol (ret.) traversed the roadline with DPWH-CAR Regional Director Tiburcio L. Canlas, Baguio City DE Rene Zarate, Benguet 1st DE Ireneo S. Gallato, Tuba Mayor Ignacio Rivera and the Barangay Captains of Camp 3 and Camp 6, Dalmaia Dino and Romy Salinas, respectively, and their Kagawads, PCI James Acod of PNP-Tuba and members of the media early today to check various areas of concern.

The group stopped at the critical areas such as the Lion's Head where tourists are expected to flock; Demonstration Bridge; Camp 6, where road restoration is ongoing; the Camp 5 Bridge; the proposed evacuation center at Twin Peaks; and the Camp 1 bridge.

Close monitoring will be implemented by members of task force as this will be the first time Kennon Road will be opened to Baguio bound traffic after it was closed on June 17, 2018 due to a series of rock fall and landslides that caused minor and fatal accidents on motorists.

As announced, the temporary opening of Kennon Road ONE WAY UP to Baguio will be from February 14 to 18, 2019 and February 22 to March 4, 2019. Only light vehicles with gross weight of 5 tons are allowed.

A post evaluation will be conducted after the re-opening scheme.
