The Department of Public Works and Highways Regional Office 02 led by Regional Director Melanio C. Briosos and Assistant Regional Director Alexander D. Nola held a coordination meeting on January 14, 2019 at DPWH Region 02 Conference Hall, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
The meeting was attended by the Regional Staff, Technical and Financial Division Chiefs together with the Contractors, Project and Material Engineers.
Upon receiving instruction from Central Office Management Committee RD Briosos and Construction Chief Jose B. Tobias relayed the policy directive of Secretary Mark A. Villar to expedite infrastructure projects for 2019.
Secretary Villar directed all DPWH officials to closely monitor on-going implementation of infrastructure projects according to RD Briosos.
Engr. Tobias on the other hand, also discussed issues and concerns relevant to the implementation DPWH Region 02 infrastructure program. He pointed out the value of being pro-active in stronger coordination and commitment to complete the projects ahead of schedule.
In the conference, contractors were briefed with current Department Orders pertinent to project implementation. Among these are the Specific Guidelines to manage PCMA implementation, approval of Time suspension and resumption order, liabilities of contractors in implementation of government infrastructure projects and requirements for contract documents.
RD Briosos urged the attendeed to fast-track the implementation of infrastructure projects in order to meet the targets for 2019 and encouraged the contractors to take advantage of the fair weather. He also emphasized the need to improve quality through efficient and effective project implementation in line with the policy of President Duterte.
