Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office 6 held the monthly Infrastructure and Utilities Group Meeting at the DPWH Regional Office Conference Room at Iloilo City on February 6, 2019.
Spearheaded by Regional Director Wenceslao M. Leaño, Jr., representatives from Panay Electric Company (PECO), Sky Cable, Globe Telecom, and Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) gathered to explain their plans to boost connection on the areas of power supply and telecommunications.
Also joining the said meeting are the representatives from Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT), Panay Broadband, DPWH Iloilo City District Engineering Office (DEO), Public Safety Transportation Management Office (PSTMO) and Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Center that discussed the projects of improvement to hasten transportation and communication and to focus on the updates of pole relocation projects, deadwire clean-up and board resolution on building permits for upcoming projects.
The meeting cited the problems and solutions for a smooth flow in project construction and implementation without affecting the power and telecommunication poles and water pipelines and facilities that cause disturbances towards the people.
All of the agencies agreed that the DPWH should take full responsibility on the chairmanship of the executive board because most of the road projects are under their flagship.
