In line with the Department’s thrust to fast track the completion of projects and to be transparent in its operations, a pilot training and implementation of Document Tracking System (DoTS) was recently conducted for the personnel of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Region VI.
Said meeting was headed by DPWH Assistant Secretary B. Elizabeth Yap, Assistant Secretary Gilberto Reyes, Bureau of Construction Assistant Director Aristarco Doroy and former Director of Bureau of Research and Standards Judy Sese, and other officials from the Central Office, with DPWH VI Assistant Regional Director Jose Al V. Fruto.
District Engineers, Assistant District Engineers, Division and Section Chiefs, and personnel who are involved in the processing of documents in the procurement of goods and services attended the said seminar.
All documents covered shall be registered in the DoTS, wherein the designated DoTS Center shall register the document into the DoTS and forward the same to the concerned processing office.
The system will provide the latest status of the transaction including the routing, current processing stage, date and time received and sent by the processing offices, and target dates of completion on each process.
In addition, with the application of the system, tracing of documents will no longer be a burden as it allows aptly responding to queries and prompt those offices and personnel involved into action, and even identifying the cause of delay.
