Tuesday, October 25, 2016

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office 8 reactivates “Lakbay-Alalay 2016” Program starting 5:00 P.M. on October 28 until 12:00 noon of November 2, 2016. This is in line with the Department’s thrust of assisting all motorists in observance of All Saints Day every November 1.

For the “Lakbay Alalay” Program, a composite team will be formed consisting an anchorman from the regional office and district engineering offices who will aid the traveling public. The team will coordinate with concerned entities (LTO, PNP, Officials of Local Government Units) in order to provide required assistance to motorists.

Sec. Villar instructed DPWH Regional Directors and District Engineers to ensure that major roads are free from potholes and have reflectorized pavement markings and signs warning motorists of ongoing road projects.

He further directed to facilitate the removal of obstructions along national roads and bridges such as vendors and illegally parked vehicles.

The implementation of the various highway routine maintenance activities of DPWH ensure the roads are always kept in good shape for safer travel and provide uninterrupted transport flow.
