The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is more than half-way done with the reconstruction of Ormoc City Grandstand at Ormoc City Central School, Leyte Province.

In an inspection, District Engineer Lino Francisco C. Gonzales of DPWH Leyte 4th District Engineering Office (DEO) said that works are being fast-tracked in time for the Eastern Visayas Athletic Association (EVRAA) this coming March 3-9, 2019.

“The project contractor has been ordered to undertake a round-the-clock work to complete the project by February 2019,” said DE Gonzales.

DE Gonzales noted that most of the old Ormoc City Grandstand’s facilities were damaged and destroyed after the July 2017 earthquake in the region.

With a total allotment budget of P30.97 million, the new Ormoc City Grandstand can accommodate a maximum of 600 persons.

Once completed, a new Ormoc City Grandstand complete with comfort and dressing rooms will provide a suitable space in hosting sports, city and regional events.
