
Members of the local legislative body the Municipality of San Lorenzo in Guimaras province are now housed in a more conducive office, with the completion of its new building.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Guimaras District Engineering Office has completed the construction of a new Legislative building, which is one of the 9 projects implemented by the District under one cluster contract project, with the total amount of P11.0 Million.
According to District Engineer Rolando P. Ubaldo, the building is constructed within the compound of the Municipal Hall of San Lorenzo for easy access of both the employees and the stakeholders.
Ubaldo said that a total of P6.0 Million was funded for the said project, which involves construction of a building with a floor area of 285 square meters.
An additional 55.30 meters was included in the project for the construction of porch and ramps for the persons with disabilities, pursuant to the provisions of BP 344, otherwise known as “An Act to Enhance the Mobility of Disabled Persons by Requiring Certain Buildings, Institutions, Establishments and Public Utilities to install facilities and Other Devices.”
“The remaining P5.0 Million was utilized to construct multi-purpose pavements in the barangays of Constancia, Sebario, Suclaran, Cabano, Igcawayan, Sapal and Tamborong, all in San Lorenzo town,” Ubaldo added.
