DPWH Undersecretary Rafael C. Yabut inspected the on-going construction and improvement of access road leading to the Laguindingan Airport in Misamis Oriental, July 12, 2018.
Together with Region-X Director Zenaida T. Tan and other officials, Usec Yabut visited the site construction of the P456,972,633.14 worth multi-year-programmed project at the Gitagum-Laguindingan Airport section comprising the Mauswagon-Tubajon Road and the three flat, slab type bridges in Mauswagon, Gasi and Tubajon extending to 13.9 kilometers.
Mauswagon-Tubajon Road is a two-lane concrete pavement highway of about 13.70 kilometers in length with 15-meter wide right-of-way limit. This serves as a by-pass road from Barangay Lanao, Alubijid to Barangays Tubajon and Mauswagon, Misamis Oriental.
The access road is an alternate arterial leading to the Airport and the proposed seaport. The road upgrading from gravel to concrete will improve accessibility for the travelling public and subsequently contribute to the tourism and economic development of the province.
