Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Samar 1st District Engineering Office reported 8 AM Friday, December 22, 2017 that Calbayog-Allen Road at KO701+900 – KO701+985 Barangay Malayog, Calabayog City is not passable to vehicular traffic due to approximately 250 cubic meters of rockslide that occurred 7PM Thursday, December 21, 2017.
DPWH road clearing operation is on-going with barricades and warning signs and traffic advisory installed.
Motorists from Allen, Catarman to Tacloban and vice versa are also advised to take the Allen, Catarman – Catarman-Calbayog via Lope de Vega route.
