The Lower Kalinga District Engineering Office (LKDEO) of the Department of Public Works and Highways reported more than thirty-six percent (36%) accomplishment in the implementation of various projects under the Regular Infrastructure Fund.

For 2017, the LKDEO allocated approximately ₱630 million for various infrastructure projects to be implemented and monitored by the district office, while more than ₱415 million worth of other local infrastructure projects will be implemented and monitored by the Department of Public Works and Highways – Cordillera Administrative Region (DPWH-CAR).

District Engineer Ireneo S. Gallato of the LKDEO said this accomplishment is so far the highest among the different District Engineering Offices in the region for the first five months of this year. He added that the District Engineering Office remains aggressive in monitoring the compliance of contractors in meeting their targets.

“We are constantly reminding our contractors to strictly adhere to the schedule of work and accomplishment to avoid incurring unjustifiable slippages in their projects and for us to sustain our rate of accomplishment in the implementation of funded projects,” District Engineer Gallato stressed.

Last April 2017, the LKDEO reported having an accomplishment of twenty-two percent (22%) in the implementation of their bid out projects under the ₱630 million regular infrastructure funds that were downloaded to the agency for the programmed infrastructure projects this year.
