The Department of Public Works and Highways - Cordillera Administrative Region (DPWH-CAR) was recognized as the most improved regional office on overall accomplishments in the latest report of the DPWH Central Office.
The announcement was made during the Unified Director's Meeting held on November 22, 2017 at the DPWH Regional Office X, Cagayan de Oro City.
The Regional Office has drastically soared from 16th place to 4th place in the physical accomplishment ranking in August 2017 and has sustained its position throughout the end of November 2017. It has also achieved a dramatic growth in its actual physical accomplishments (Status of Construction Stage) from August to November 2017, according to the Project and Contract Management Application (PCMA) report.
As of November 30, 2017, DPWH-CAR was ranked the 5th top performer among 16 regional offices that had accomplished above the targeted Disbursement Rate and 4th on Absorptive Capacity.
The reliability of the overall performance of the DPWH-CAR was further emphasized in a comparison report, whereby their physical accomplishment was consistent with its financial accomplishment.
Regional Director Nerie D. Bueno congratulated the District Engineers, Division Chiefs, the technical people and support staff for their cooperation and hard work, and for proving that it is not impossible for DPWH-CAR to hit the agency targets, even in a short span of time. However, she urged everyone to remain steadfast as stakes are higher in the last quarter of the Fiscal Year 2017.
Director Bueno said that Secretary Mark A. Villar has been consistently monitoring the figures of regions such as CAR, which was languishing at the bottom rank in previous years. He holds dialogues with the concerned directors to mitigate the problems being encountered in their performances.
