The Department of Public Works and Highways - Cagayan Third District Engineering Office (DPWH-CTDEO) conducted a consultation meeting on Road-Right-of-Way (RROW) among the residents of Barangays Calamagui and Baculud in Amulung, Cagayan.
About 46 residents including barangay officials together with representatives from the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) attended the consultation meeting.
According to Assistant District Engineer Mariano B. Malupeng, the activity is part of the planning process of DPWH to inform and educate the affected residents of Amulung on the scope of road-right-of-way in national roads before the implementation of a road widening project along Cagayan Valley Road in the said municipality in 2018.
“The existing road here has a width of 6.7 meters and it will be extended with additional 3.35 meters on both sides, plus additional 1.5 meters for walkway,” ADE Malupeng said.
Moreover, Atty. Heirridge Kevin N. De Leon of DPWH Regional Office II, discussed the processing and documentary requirements pertaining to Infrastructure Right of Way Acquisition as per RA 10752 otherwise known as “An Act Facilitating the Acquisition of the Right of Way, Sites or Section for National Government Infrastructure Project”.
Atty. de Leon emphasized that affected residents need to present the land title and tax declaration to secure clearance from the DPWH.
The consultation meeting ended with an open forum answering legal questions from the affected property-owners.
