
Scheduled to be implemented in 2017 are sixteen (16) projects that include the construction, rehabilitation and retrofitting and widening of permanent bridges to more than two (2) lanes at the 3rd and 4th legislative districts of Nueva Ecija.
These projects amounting to P537,573,000 are seen to greatly improve the ease in travel of motorists plying the province’s major highways.
Two (2) new permanent bridges are proposed to be constructed, the first one along Nueva Ecija – Aurora Road amounting to P33.8M, and the Rico Chico Bridge leading to Sitio Pantay and Bignay at Rio Chico, General Tinio, Nueva Ecija in the amount of P89.9M.
The Luyos-Buliran Bridge across Pampanga River in San Antonio, Nueva Ecija is also set for completion.
Three (3) bridges, namely, San Roque Bridge along Jose Abad Santos Avenue, San Juan Bridge 3 along Jct. Tablang – Gabaldon Road; and Mamalacol Bridge along Daang Maharlika are to be rehabilitated with a P46M budget.
Of the ten (10) bridges set to be widened, the Doña Josefa Bridge along Maharlika Highway in Gapan City received the largest fund at P195.3M. 2 additional lanes will be added to the 283 lm bridge, a move welcomed by motorists experience daily inconvenience brought by high volume of vehicles passing through the city.
