The Department of Public Works and Highways – National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) will take advantage of the long weekend to continue its road reblocking activities in ten (10) major thoroughfares in Metro Manila which will start on 11PM of Friday, August 18, 2017.
DPWH-NCR Director Melvin B. Navarro reported that road works will include major areas in Quezon City including second lane, northbound direction of Epifanio delos Santos Avenue before North Avenue; second lane, southbound direction of A. Bonifacio Street between Del Monte Street after Binhagan Street; truck lane, southbound direction of E. Rodriguez Jr. after Green Meadow; second lane direction of Mindanao Avenue near Road 20; third lane of Congressional Avenue Extension between Visayas Avenue to Tandang Sora Avenue; second lane of Quirino Highway between Regalado Avenue and La Mesa Dam; and, first lane, westbound direction of Luzon Avenue between Commonwealth Avenue to Congressional Avenue Extension.
Road repair will likewise be undertaken in southbound direction of C-5 Road near Julia Vargas and along Manila East Road infront of SM East Ortigas in Pasig City; and in northbound direction of Mac Arthur Highway near Monumento Circle in Caloocan City.
Affected motorists are advised to take alternate route due to expected build-up at the construction areas which are scheduled to reopen at 5AM of Monday, August 21, 2017.
