A total of three (3) two-storey school buildings have been turned over to students of Sanchez Mira School of Arts and Trades (SMSAT) in Sanchez Mira, Cagayan by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
DPWH Region 2 Director Melanio C. Briosos said the project was implemented by the DPWH Cagayan Second District Engineering Office to accommodate the influx of students at SMSAT.
Costing P40 million, the new school buildings which home 10 classrooms each or a total of 30 standard classrooms combined were funded under the Basic Educational Facilities Fund (BEFF) of the Department of Education.
“We expect that these two-storey buildings will address classroom shortage in SMSAT, at the same time provide a better learning environment to the students, said Director Briosos.
