The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a P42 million road improvement project at MRT Avenue also known as Bayani Avenue in Taguig City.
DPWH NCR Director Melvin B. Navarro said the 1.2-kilometer section of Bayani Avenue which serves as an access road to Libingan ng mga Bayani has been repaired to benefit motorists especially the visiting families of fallen heroes.
“Those who plan to go to Libingan ng mga Bayani to visit their deceased loved ones or pay respect to our country’s fallen heroes will have smoother and convenient travel to the national cemetery in time for National Heroes Day on August 28,” said Navarro.
Director Navarro added that the improvement of the four-lane road will improve traffic condition near the area, as it can be an option to divert traffic from C-5 Road and Lawton Avenue.
A new drainage system was also installed along Bayani Road to prevent flooding in the area.
