Camarines Norte DEO gets DOH’s Red Orchids Award nomination

The Department of Public Works and Highways – Camarines Norte District Engineering Office (DPWH-CNDEO) is among the nominees of this year’s Red Orchids Award, a special recognition being given by the Department of Health (DOH) to smoke-free government establishments.

The CNDEO, known for its devoted participation with the DOH’s advocacy program for the protection of the establishment against Tobacco Industry interference and has been a recipient of Red Orchids Award in Region 5 for two years, is now nominated on a national level.

Camarines Norte District Engineer Ricardo Gutierrez said he is grateful for the nomination of CNDEO and expressed his commitment to continuously promote a hundred percent smoke-free environment within his jurisdiction.

In 2016, the Civil Service Commission thru the Best Smoke-Free Government Agency for Region 5 likewise recognized CNDEO for its active compliance of measures suggested by the World Health Organization (WHO) Framework Convention on Tobacco Control and Tobacco Regulation Act of 2013.
