Regional Office IV-A of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has bested the other Regional Offices for acquiring the highest disbursement rate of 33%, exceeding its 25% target set for the month of May 2017.
This was announced during the Directors’ Meeting held in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur last June 7, 2017.
During his report of the region’s financial and physical status, Regional Director Samson L. Hebra emphasized that the measure of the Department’s success lies on the disbursements of all infrastructure-implementing offices and not solely on the obligations.
He also stressed the importance of proper project implementation to achieve the targets of the Department, and this includes proper documentation, compliance to Department Orders on the process of disbursements and strict adoption or implementation of procurement system rules and regulations.
Meanwhile, the Regional Office was also included among the top performers in absorptive capacity as of May 31, 2017, surpassing the Department’s target of 63%.
“Getting on top is really hard to navigate, but with hard work, goals and passion, it really is possible,” said Hebra during one of the region’s flag raising ceremonies, as he relayed the result of the financial and physical status of the region.
