Advisory on Ayala Bridge Closure

Lane reduction at Ayala Bridge in San Miguel, Manila will be implemented during night time from March 13 to March 16, 2015 as the bridge shall undergo repair and rehabilitation.

Department of Public Works and Highways - National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) Director Reynaldo G. Tagudando said that night time repair works involving gantry installation, side wall construction, blasting and other activities will be undertaken as part of the preparatory works for the Ayala Bridge rehabilitation that will necessitate total closure set on March 21 to April 20, 2015.

Of the total 12 gantries, three (3) gantries have been installed last week, and installation will resume that will result to lane reduction during night time starting March 13, Friday at 10 PM to 5 AM of March 14, Saturday; March 14 at 10 PM to 5 AM of March 15, Sunday; and 10 PM of March 15 to 5 AM of March 16 Monday.

Rehabilitation of Ayala Bridge to restore structural integrity including raising the bridge by .70 meters for navigational clearance of vessels passing Pasig River is being implemented on work stages to minimize impact to traffic.

In the meantime, informative signs with alternate routes for motorists and commuters are installed at the following roads: España, A.H. Lacson, President Quirino Avenue, United Nations Avenue, Ayala Boulevard, Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard, Bustillos and Legarda Streets, P. Casal Extension, Claro M. Recto Avenue, Dapitan, Carlos Palanca Sr., Quezon Boulevard, Plaza Sta. Cruz, Carriedo, Padre Burgos, Andalucia and Lerma.

This is to inform the motorists about the impending month-long full closure of Ayala Bridge from March 21 to April 20, 2015 where motorists will have to take alternative routes in going to and from their destination. Navigation of vessels will not also be allowed for 48 hours to be announced two (2) days prior to the actual date of lifting the bridge structure.

The bridge will be partially closed east side on April 21 to June 14 but is open one-way northbound and partially closed west side on June 15 to July 20 but open one-way northbound. However, movement of trucks and buses will not still be allowed during the partial one-way opening.
