Regional Director Jorge Sebastian discusses the work accomplishment report on the implementation of Zamboanga City By-Pass Road Project with Secretary Rogelio L. Singson and Zamboanga City Mayor Ma. Isabelle Climaco-Salazar.
Public Works Secretary has recently visited Region IX to see for himself on the ground the actual accomplishment in the implementation of the Zamboanga City By-Pass Road project.
The Secretary said that the road network is a priority project of the Department since this will greatly help decongest traffic within the city proper as this will serve as an alternate route for motorists and vehicles travelling east to west or vice versa
The Sta Elena section specifically at km 252 +700 of Daang Maharlika Highway in Camarines Norte is not passable as of 3:00 AM of September 19, 2014 due to damaged Cabuluam Detour Bridge caused by flash flood.
Motorists and commuters from Camarines Norte to Manila and vice versa are advised by the DPWH Camarines Norte District Engineering Office to take Daang Maharlika Sta Elena-Sipocot, Camarines Sur towards Andaya Highway.
“I won’t hesitate suspending or terminating erring DPWH personnel who are members of the Bids and Awards Committees (BACs) conniving with contractors or with unscrupulous individuals found to be “fixing” the biddings in the Department.”
This is the statement of DPWH Secretary Rogelio L. Singson after receiving reports that activities such as “fixing” the biddings done in the DPWH offices are still on-going despite the suspension of some BAC members who were found culpable of violating the provisions of RA 9184, otherwise known as Procurement Act.
