DPWH Road Repair Begins Maundy Thursday

Road works along EDSA will start tomorrow, Maundy Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 2 a.m.

Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Rogelio L. Singson said that the road reblocking project along EDSA during Holy Week specifically between Madison Street and Ortigas Avenue (northbound) and between Connecticut and Boni Avenue (southbound) will be closely supervised by DPWH Metro Manila 1st District Engineering Office.

Motorists Warned - Road Works Along Manila North Road in La Union and Ilocos Provinces

The Department of Public Works and Highways has advised that on-going road works along Manila North Road in La Union and Ilocos Sur may slowdown the travel to the Ilocos and Cordillera Provinces.

District Engineer Ray Organo of DPWH Ilocos Sur 1st District Engineering Office reported that four (4) bridges along Manila North Road are undergoing construction.

Bridge projects expected to hamper travel along Manila North Road include Teppeng Bridge in Sinait, Cabugao Bridge in Cabugao, San Juan and Bical Bridges in San Juan, all in Ilocos Sur.

Safety Ratings of Agoo-Baguio Road Improves

Safety rating of once considered high risk road leading to Baguio City has improved with the integration of engineering countermeasures.

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Rogelio L. Singson said that the construction and installation of safety devices at Agoo-Baguio City Road via Marcos Highway was a pilot project under the International Road Assessment Programme (IRAP) demonstration corridor.

All Roads Ready for the Holy Week - DPWH

Anticipating the influx of travelers during the Holy Week, the Department of Public Works and Highways XIII (DPWH-XIII) has reactivated its Lakbay Alalay Program to assure that travel along the National Highway is safe and convenient.

DPWH-XIII Regional Director Danilo E. Versola directed all nine District Engineering Offices in this region to prioritize safety and convenience of motorists, pedestrians and foreign tourists by implementing the measures and guidelines in the said program as per memorandum ordered by DPWH Secretary Rogelio L. Singson.

DPWH Issues Bridge Vertical Clearance Guidelines

Elevated structures such as railways, flyovers, bridges and footbridges shall comply with the latest minimum vertical clearance requirement of the Department of Public Works and Highways.

DPWH Secretary Rogelio L. Singson has issued Department Order (D.O.) No. 53, series of 2016, updating the standard vertical clearance above overhead structure to ensure sufficient clearance of tall vehicles passing underneath roadways.
