DPWH Delivers New Flood Control Structure in Guimba, Nueva Ecija

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has constructed a protective structure along a local creek in Barangay Nagpandayan, Guimba, Nueva Ecija to protect residents from inundation.

DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino, in his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, said that the 570-meter long slope protection structures were built on both sides of the Cassanova Creek, which usually overflows during heavy rains.

Volunteers from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Central Office and the National Capital Region on Friday, September 22, 2023, participated in the Department’s coastal cleanup event, along the stretch of Manila Baywalk Dolomite Beach in the City of Manila. DPWH Environmental and Social Safeguards Division Chief Rosemarie B. del Rosario, representing DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, led the cleanup activity which supports this year’s International Coastal Cleanup Day.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has upgraded from gravel to concrete the 1.48-kilometer Pedro Manubas Bypass Road in Sta. Rosa, Nueva Ecija to provide safer and more convenient movement of goods and services.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed its P82-million rehabilitation of damaged slopes along a portion of Dinapigue Road in Barangay Dibulo, Dinapigue, Isabela.

In his report to DPWH Regional Director 2 Reynaldo C. Alconcel, DPWH Isabela 4th District Engineer Evelyn C. Costales said that the newly-completed slope protection was implemented along the 433-meter segment of the road, which has always been a landslide-prone area.

“This project will not only ensure safe access but also prolong the service life of the road,” said DE Costales.

2 FMR Projects to Boost Agricultural Productivity of Malinao, Aklan

To further enhance agricultural connectivity and improve transportation in Western Visayas, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is undertaking the concrete paving of two (2) farm-to-market roads (FMR) for agri-communities in Malinao, Aklan.

DPWH Region 6 OIC-Director Sanny Boy O. Oropel identified the concreting projects along a 160-lineal-meter road section in Barangay Bulabod and a 924-lineal-meter road portion in Barangay Dangcalan with the provision of 226-lineal meter slope protection, costing P11.8 million and P11.9 million, respectively.
