Community-Managed Road Maintenance

Develop sense of responsibility in nation building and employment opportunities to about 477 families in Paranas, Samar are provided by the government through the Community Managed Road Maintenance Project (CMRMP), a partnership program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Road Board. DPWH-2 Welcomes First Ever Lady Director

Engr. Nerie D. Bueno, the newly designated Officer-In-Charge Director of DPWH Region II formally assumed her new assignment after a simple turn-over ceremony held on September 18, 2014 at the DPWH Regional Conference Hall.

Director Bueno succeeded Director Melvin B. Navarro who was reassigned at DPWH Region V in Legaspi City, Albay.

Regional employees and officials warmly welcomed the Engr. Bueno, first ever lady Regional Director upon arrival in the regional office where a simple program that includes a thanksgiving mass was held.

DPWH Improves Palico - Balayan - Batangas City Road

Four (4) projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways Batangas I District Engineering Office (Batangas I DEO) for the year 2014 were for Network Development – Widening of National Roads in various sections of Palico-Balayan-Batangas City Road in Western Batangas.

With a total of length of 2.07 kilometers, the road widening included sections in Mahayahay, Palanas, Bukal-Tubigan in Lemery, Batangas and Rizal in Tuy, Batangas.

ZC3R Coordination Meeting

Secretary Singson presided the meeting with Mayor Isabelle Climaco-Salazar, Congressman Celso Lobregat, RD Jorge Sebastian and ARD Nenita Robles for the Zamboanga City Road to Recovery and Reconstruction project. The rehab plan integrates the principle of “Build Back Better Zamboanga” which means better road networks in the affected areas and disaster and climate change-resilient infrastructures and public facilities.

Project Inpsection

Public Works Secretary Rogelio L. Singson led the inspection of the Zamboanga City Roadmap to Recovery and Reconstruction (ZC3R) project. With him are Congressman Celso Lobregat, Zamboanga City Mayor Ma. Isabelle Climaco-Salazar, RD Jorge Sebastian and other DPWH Region 9 officials.

Bridge Along Daang Maharlika Damaged by Flood in Camarines Norte

The Sta Elena section specifically at km 252 +700 of Daang Maharlika Highway in Camarines Norte is not passable as of 3:00 AM of September 19, 2014 due to damaged Cabuluam Detour Bridge caused by flash flood.

Motorists and commuters from Camarines Norte to Manila and vice versa are advised by the DPWH Camarines Norte District Engineering Office to take Daang Maharlika Sta Elena-Sipocot, Camarines Sur towards Andaya Highway.

Secretary Singson Visits Region IX

Public Works Secretary has recently visited Region IX to see for himself on the ground the actual accomplishment in the implementation of the Zamboanga City By-Pass Road project.

The Secretary said that the road network is a priority project of the Department since this will greatly help decongest traffic within the city proper as this will serve as an alternate route for motorists and vehicles travelling east to west or vice versa
