San Fernando Bypass Now Open to Two-Way Traffic

The Department of Public Works and Highways has lifted the one-way traffic scheme on portion of San Fernando-San Juan Bypass Road which is undergoing road rehabilitation and repair.

Motorists can now ply along the bypass road both northbound and southbound directions but will have to follow a “stop and go” traffic scheme particularly at section KM270+000 to KM274+800 where some lanes are closed for repair.

Motorists can now ply along the bypass road both northbound and southbound directions but will have to follow a “stop and go” traffic scheme particularly at section KM270+000 to KM274+800 where some lanes are closed for repair.

Informative traffic signs are in place to guide motorists who are also advised to use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion.

DPWH Southern Leyte Reports 69% Completion Rate of 2016 Projects

It was a productive first semester for the Department of Public Works and Highways – Southern Leyte District Engineering Office (DPWH-SLDEO) with the attainment of 69 percent accomplishment for 2016 projects.

District Engineer Ma. Margarita C. Junia of the DPWH-SLDEO said the field office surpassed the 50 percent target set by the central office for the first six months of the year. The field office is tasked to carry out PHP1 billion worth of projects. About P941.46 million were obligated and P244.18 million has been disbursed during the first half of the year.

DPWH Ormoc Cited for Quality Management

Employ Women in DPWH Infra Projects, Contractors Urged

The DPWH implemented the provisions of RA 6685 and RA 9710, more known as the Magna Carta of Women with released of Department Order No. 130.

The DO urges the DPWH regional and district offices including contractors and subcontractors to make the minimum percentage of 50% of unskilled labor requirements and 30% of skilled labor requirements equally accessible to both women and men, with women comprising 20% of the required workforce.

Singson Bids DPWH XI Farewell

Outgoing Secretary Rogelio L. Singson on Wednesday, June 22 2016, visited the DPWH XI Regional Office in Davao City as part of his final tour of the DPWH Regional Offices all over the country. He was welcomed by no less than Regional Director Mariano R. Alquiza, ARD Tomas Rodriguez and more than a hundred well-wishers from the Regional and District Offices.

2 Road Sections in Cordillera Not Passable

Two (2) road sections in Benguet and Mountain Province in Cordillera Administrative Region are impassable due to damage caused by continuous heavy rains induced by southwest monsoon referred to as the “habagat” brought by Typhoon Butchoy.

In a report submitted to the Department of Public Works and Highways Head Office, the DPWH – Bureau of Maintenance (DPWH-BOM) identified closed section in Benguet as Asin-Nangalisan-San Pascual Road, K0275+209 (detour road). The detour road was washed out by the strong current brought by flash flood.
