Flood Control Structures Protect Communities in Compostela, Davao de Oro

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has ensured the safety against water-related hazards of communities along the Agusan River with the completion of a flood control project in Compostela, Davao de Oro.

DPWH Regional Office 11 Director Juby B. Cordon reported to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan and Undersecretary for Mindanao Operations Eugenio R. Pipo Jr. that areas near the section of Agusan River in Barangay Poblacion, Compostela are now better protected against possible excess water overflowing from the river in times of heavy rains and typhoons.

DPWH Implements Engineering Interventions for Landslide-Prone Road Section in North Cotabato

Travelers are now safer from rockfall and soil erosion with the recently completed installation of a road slope protection structure along a major thoroughfare in the municipality of President Roxas, North Cotabato province.

Based on his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH Regional Office 12 Director Basir M. Ibrahim stated that the 3,482-square meter road slope protection project along Paco-Roxas-Arakan Valley-Jct. Davao Bukidnon Road located in Barangay Poblacion was undertaken to serve as a reinforcement and mitigate the risk of fatal road accidents.

Road Upgraded for Highland Communities in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has improved a 3-kilometer portion of an access road to address transportation issues caused by poor road conditions in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo.

Implemented by Iloilo 3rd District Engineering Office, the project involved the construction of 6.70-meter wide portland cement concrete pavement with 1.50-meter wide road shoulders on both sides.

Other construction works include sidewalks as well as drainage and slope protection with grouted riprap and stone masonry.

DPWH Announces Completion of Rehabilitation of Lullutan Bridge in Ilagan City, Isabela

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the rehabilitation and strengthening of the Lullutan Bridge along Ilagan-Delfin Albano-Mallig Road in Barangay Lullutan, Ilagan City, Isabela.

DPWH Regional Office 2 Director Reynaldo C. Alconcel, in his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan and Undersecretary Eugenio R. Pipo Jr., said that the completed rehabilitation work on the 500-meter Lullutan Bridge involved replacing the expansion joint, installing missing high-tension bolts, and reconstructing the deck slab.
