P39-M Road Project Boosts Tourism Activities in Alilem, Ilocos Sur

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the road concreting project along Alilem-Sudipen Road to improve connectivity leading to tourist spots in the municipality of Alilem, Ilocos Sur Province.

DPWH Regional Office I Director Ronnel M. Tan, in his progress report to Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, said that the completion of the road project now stimulates tourism activities that will give the much-needed boost for the various livelihood opportunities of the residents.

“The road construction project with a total length of 868 meters concrete road consists of 315 meters in Alilem and 553 meters with stone masonry that serves as slope protection in Sudipen,” said Director Tan.

The Alilem-Supiden Road project which now connects to the Amburayan Friendship Bridge — located along the Amburayan River will enable tourists and visitors to discover the natural environmental landscape in the area,” added Director Tan.

Costing P39.20-million, the Alilem-Sudipen Road Project was funded under the General Appropriations Act (GAA) of 2022.
