EDSA Kamuning Flyover Reopens July 23

All three lanes of the southbound direction of EDSA Kamuning Flyover in Quezon City will be passable to motorists starting at 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2022.

This was announced by DPWH Quezon 2nd District Engineer Eduardo V. Santos, following the completion of major repair works of the 527.15 meter stretch of Kamuning flyover.

“We are happy to report that we were able to deliver on the given 30-day timetable despite the intermittent rain showers experienced in the past weeks”, said District Engineer Santos.

300 Households Protected in Ormoc City, More Flood Control Structures in Leyte Underway

With the onset of rainy season, approximately 300 households from Barangays San Isidro, Tambulilid, and Linao in Ormoc City are now protected by a flood control structure constructed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Based on a report submitted by DPWH Region 8 Director Allan S. Borromeo, the P28.5-million project along Haubon River involves the implementation of a 350-meter river wall, constructed through stone masonry with sheet piles, and steel slope protection which act as the first line of defense against river overflows.

New Female Barracks Building to Rise at Camp Aguinaldo

The Department of Public Works and Highways announced that a new female barracks building is in the works at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City.

DPWH National Capital Regional Director Nomer Abel P. Canlas, together with Armed Forces of the Philippines Civil Relations Service (AFPCRS) Commander Major General Manuel V. Sequitin PA and other officials, held a recent groundbreaking ceremony to mark the beginning of construction for the three-storey building that will serve as female barracks of the Civil Relations Service.

Currently in the works are two (2) flood mitigation structures in Barangay Tabuating along Pampanga River and Barangay San Roque along Peñaranda River measuring 222.4 lineal meters and 180 lineal meters, respectively.
