DPWH officials inspect Iloilo City projects

Director Wenceslao M. Leano, Jr. of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office 6 and Iloilo City District Engineer Rodney A. Gustilo, together with OIC-Assistant District Engineer Gerardo Parra, inspected various ongoing projects implemented by the Iloilo City District Engineering Office (ICDEO).

During the inspection, Leano instructed Gustilo to fast-track the implementation of the projects in order to have it completed on or before the scheduled completion.

Better access road to Pangasinan’s Cabongaoan Beach underway

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is currently implementing a road improvement project that will facilitate easy access to the white sand beaches of Cabongaoan, one of Pangasinan’s booming destinations.

DPWH Region 1 Director Ronnel M. Tan said the improvement and concreting of Poblacion-Ilio-Ilio Road in the town of Burgos received an initial allocation of P45 million this year through convergence program with the Department of Tourism.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is currently implementing a road improvement project that will facilitate easy access to the white sand beaches of Cabongaoan, one of Pangasinan’s booming destinations. DPWH Region 1 Director Ronnel M. Tan said the improvement and concreting of Poblacion-Ilio-Ilio Road in the town of Burgos received an initial allocation of P45 million this year through convergence program with the Department of Tourism. The ongoing Section 1 covers the paving and rehabilitation of a 2-kilometer road with provision of shoulder.

Boracay Rehabilitation Task Force inspects Boracay roads

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar checked the condition of major roads in Boracay Island along with the other members of the Boracay Rehabilitation Task Force, including Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu, Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno, and Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello.

During the inspection, the task force saw the need for the collaborative effort in the rehabilitation, improvement and widening of the narrow roads in the island causing the perennial problem of traffic congestion.
