The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has started the first phase of the P1.3-billion Borongan City Bypass Road.
Citing a report from Easter Samar District Engineer Manolo Rojas, DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the amount of P100-million was initially allocated for the construction of the first 1.2-kilometers of the bypass road, stretching from Maypangdan village to Locsoon in Borongan City.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of a seawall project that now protects the coastal town of Banganga, Davao Oriental.

Secretary Villar said that the completion of the 2.6-kilometer new section will provide direct access between R10 in Navotas City and NLEX.
