Villar Leads Groundbreaking of Mega Bridge in Camalaniugan, Cagayan

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar on Friday, June 25, 2021 led the groundbreaking ceremony of the P2.4-Billion mega bridge project that will link the towns of Aparri and Camalaniugan in Cagayan Province.

Secretary Villar said that construction of Camalaniugan Bridge under design and build contract will provide a new connectivity between eastern to western Cagayan that will benefit about 6,000 daily travellers.

Completed FMR benefits rice, coconut farmers in Butuan City

Public Works Secretary Mark Villar announced that a recently completed farm-to-market road (FMR) now provides safety and convenience to residents and farmers of Barangay Basag and Barangay Camayahan in Butuan City, Agusan del Norte.

Secretary Villar said that concrete paving of a 1.45 kilometer road with embankment and pipe culverts facilitates a more convenient access to transportation.

Farmers in these barangays now have better income since the FMR aids them in the delivery of rice and coconuts to nearby markets at a lesser cost.

DPWH: Imelda Hospital in Zamboanga Sibugay, nearly complete

Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary and Chief Isolation Czar Mark A. Villar announced that the on-going construction of Imelda District Hospital in Zamboanga Sibugay is targetted to be completed by this July 2021.

“We are fast-tracking the construction of this public hospital so that those who require medical care no longer have to bear long drives to reach hospitals. This will also be helpful in our COVID-19 response in the area,” said Secretary Villar.

Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary and Chief Isolation Czar Mark A. Villar announced that the on-going construction of Imelda District Hospital in Zamboanga Sibugay is targetted to be completed by this July 2021.

“We are fast-tracking the construction of this public hospital so that those who require medical care no longer have to bear long drives to reach hospitals. This will also be helpful in our COVID-19 response in the area,” said Secretary Villar.

Road Projects to Boost Tourism, Local Industries in Aklan towns

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is currently undertaking two (2) road projects in Libacao, Aklan in order to improve tourism, trade, and industry.

Secretary Mark A. Villar, based on reports from DPWH Regional Office 6 Director Lea N. Delfinado and District Engineer Alejandro M. Ventilacion, said that the road construction projects currently in full swing are located in Barangay Guadalupe costing P23.41 million and in Barangay Manika amounting P79.10-million.
