DPWH, ADB Launch Consultation Mission for Proposed Central Luzon-Pampanga River Floodway and 3 Other Major River Basin Projects

Officials from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) officially launched on Thursday, March 13, 2025 the consultative meeting for the proposed Central Luzon-Pampanga River Floodway Project and the Integrated Flood Resilience and Adaptation 2 (InFRA 2) Project that focuses on three (3) major river basins in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has recently opened access to the Tawiran-Guinobatan Road now serving as a vital transportation link, supporting the livelihood and economic activities of Barangay Tawiran and Guinobatan in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.

In his report to Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH Regional Office IV-B Director Gerald A. Pacanan said that the opening of the 1.10-kilometer road, is highly essential in enhancing mobility in the area by providing a direct route for residents and motorists, thus reducing travel time and transportation costs.

Daang Maharlika Rehabilitation Enhances Accessibility for Traders in Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija

Local entrepreneurs now benefit from improved road following the successful completion by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) of a road maintenance project along portion of Daang Maharlika in Barangay Sumacab Este.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH Region 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino said that the project was undertaken to address the deteriorated condition of the road which previously hindered the smooth flow of traffic and posed risks to motorists, including heavy trucks transporting goods.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a 372-meter-long flood control structure along the Pinacanauan River in Barangay Marannao, San Mariano, Isabela, to protect communities from severe flooding and erosion.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing a report from DPWH Region II OIC-Director Mathias L. Malenab, said that the project will address flooding and riverbank erosion in Barangay Marannao through a more stable river defense system built to mitigate damage caused by strong water currents during heavy rains.
