4-Lane Diversion Road Decongests Traffic in Baras, Catanduanes

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently completed the construction of Maria Joson Teves Diversion Road which has improved mobility in Baras, Catanduanes.

Spanning over 426.5 meters, the four-lane by-pass road with bridge component connects Barangay Osmeña to Barangay Bagong Sirang, diverting traffic from the town proper.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH Regional Director Virgilio C. Eduarte said that the diversion road will also serve as a protection to the agricultural communities proximate to the Macutal River, Quezon Section.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has implemented road rehabilitation and improvement projects that now facilitate smoother and safer driving experience in the fifth district towns of Cebu Province.

Citing a report from DPWH Regional Office 7 Director Ernesto S. Gregorio Jr., DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan said that one (1) of the completed projects is the P48.95 million rehabilitation along three (3) sections of Cebu North Hagnaya Wharf Road in Barangay Damolog in the municipality of Sogod, and Barangays Lugo and Clavera in Borbon.
