DPWH Protects Coastal Area in Barcelona, Sorsogon

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has recently constructed a seawall that also serves as a scenic alternative road in the coastal town proper of Barcelona, Sorsogon Province.

DPWH Regional Office 5 Director Virgilio C. Eduarte, in his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, said that with an allocation of P180 million from the 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA), the DPWH under the Sustainable Infrastructure Projects Alleviating Gaps (SIPAG) Program, was able to successfully implement a 340-meter seawall and a 156-meter coastal road entrance and exit.

P52-Million School Building in Tabuk City, Kalinga Underway

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is constructing a new school building to provide pupils of a high-priority elementary school in Tabuk City, Kalinga with additional learning facilities.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing a report from DPWH Cordillera Administrative Regional Director Khadaffy D. Tanggol, identified the Bulanao Central School (BCS) in Barangay Bulanao as the recipient of a four (4)-storey school building project.

P52-Million School Building in Tabuk City, Kalinga Underway

Road Concreting Projects Completed in Zamboanga del Norte

Locals now benefit from improved access and mobility with three (3) road paving projects undertaken by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Labason and Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte.

Completed in Barangay Lapatan, Labason is a 688-meter concrete farm-to-market road which now enables a safer and shorter travel time for farmers, increasing agricultural productivity and stimulating local economic growth.

DPWH Region 9 Director Cayamombao D. Dia also reported the completion of the concrete paving of a 445-meter access road in Barangay Immaculada.

Rock Netting Prevents Road Closures along Mountain Road in Consolacion, Cebu

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a slope protection project along a landslide-prone portion of Panoypoy-Panas Road in the municipality of Consolacion, Cebu Province.

In a report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH Regional Office 7 Director Ernesto S. Gregorio Jr. said that a rock netting protection was installed with an average height of 14.5 meters from Barangay Panoypoy going to Barangay Panas to ensure safety along the mountain roadside.

Namuccayan Bridge in Sto. Niño, Cagayan Nears Completion

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is fast-tracking the remaining activities of the ongoing Namuccayan Bridge Project in the town of Sto. Niño, Cagayan province.

Based on the report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, the construction of the 271.15-linear meter bridge along Sto. Niño to Lasam Road in Barangay Namuccayan is presently at 85.45 percent completion, and is targeted to be completed by March 2024.
