The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Iloilo Fourth District Engineering Office has constructed two structures in the town of Leon, province of Iloilo.

According to District Engineer Edmund V. Opinion, an amount of P8.207 Million was poured for the construction of 2-Storey, 6-Classroom school building at Leon National High School.

Opinion added that the school building could cater at least 300 students considering the 50 students per classroom ratio, preferably for the Grades 11 and 12 as part of the K-12 Program of the Department of Education.

Likewise, DPWH has completed the construction of a 2-Storey Municipal Annex building, which is also situated within Leon Municipal Hall premises.

Opinion said the building will house the office of the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) to decongest the number of employees occupying the main town hall.

“More school buildings and other multi-purpose buildings are programmed in various towns in the second congressional district within the jurisdiction of DPWH, Iloilo Fourth District Engineering Office,” Opinion added.

The said projects are tangible contributions of the DPWH to the Filipino people aside from building roads and bridges.
