The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) joins the world in celebrating the International Women’s Day on Wednesday, March 8, 2023.
The celebration, led by DPWH-Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) Chairperson and DPWH Undersecretary Maria Catalina E. Cabral, focused on the recurring theme for 2023 – 2028, “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society'', in efforts to advance women’s rights, inclusivity, social transformation, and poverty reduction by providing equal opportunities to all Filipinos.
The programs and activities include the formal launch of the DPWH-Men Supporting Gender Equality (MSGE), Forum on Republic Act 9710 or the Magna Carta of Women, DPWH-MSGE Logo and Slogan Making Contest, Forum on Gender and Development (GAD) in Collaboration with the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) and Road Engineering Association of the Philippines (REAP), Forum on Republic Act 11313 or the Safe Spaces Act (Bawal Bastos Law), and the showing of infomercials at the DPWH Lobby.
