Tuesday, February 10, 2015

The Department of Public Works and Highways, Iloilo First District Engineering Office, under the leadership of District Engineer Cecil C. Caligan, is currently implementing the construction/rehabilitation of various roads leading to declared tourism destinations in the southern portion of Iloilo.

Said roads to be improved are: Tubungan-Igtuble-San Remigio Road, which leads to Tourism and Agri-Center in Tubungan, Iloilo; and Igbaras-Passi-Igcabugao-Igbolo Road, which leads to Igcabugao Cave in Miagao, Iloilo.

The construction of these road sections will improve the road along the mountainous portion of Iloilo and shorten the route going to the province of Antique. This will also help improve the lives of the people residing in the locality through enhanced accessibility of services and products.

Another road section that the District is up for rehabilitation is the Malagyan-Tigmalapad Road, which leads to Sinuhutan Cave and Tinagong Dagat Lake in the town of Miagao.

Once completed, these road sections will greatly help in the tourism industry of the said municipalities.
