Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Guimaras District Engineering Office (DEO) is ready for the anticipated volume of motorists that will flock the province in the upcoming Manggahan Festival, which will run from May 11-22, 2016, despite the various on-going road rehabilitation/widening projects.
District Engineer Rolando P. Ubaldo said instruction was already disseminated to all field personnel and contractors of the District to observe extreme caution in the execution of road constructions, rehabilitations and improvement works.
“Due to ongoing road widening projects, the presence of obstructions and equipment operations could not be done away, however, we assure that inconvenience would be reduced to the most tolerable level,” Ubaldo said.
Aside from ensuring that national roads are accessible to the motorists and riding public, DE Ubaldo mentioned that their Office will make sure that roads will be ready, particularly the routes of the 5th Mango Man Triathlon and the Manggahan Bike Fest.
Ubaldo added that DPWH will also participate in various activities in line with the Manggahan Festival such as National Government Agencies (NGAs) & TAREC Day, Parada Sang Serbisyo Publiko, NGAs Got Talent Competition, One Stop Shop of Services, and the festival’s Anniversary Parade.
