Engineers from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Guimaras District Engineering Office together with representatives from the Department of Agrarian Reform-Guimaras Provincial Office (DARPO-Guimaras) conducted revalidation of two (2) bridges in Guimaras Province for the proposed inclusion in the “Tulay ng Pangulo Para sa Kaunlarang Pang-Agraryo (TPKP).
The technical team from the two offices conducted a re-validation of the existing bailey bridge in Salvacion-Tastasan and waterway structure over Loblob river in Nazaret- East Valencia, both in the town of Buenavista.
In 2009, these structures were proposed to be included in the “Tulay ng Pangulo” but did not materialize due to lack of fund allocation.
Hence, according to DAR, they recently received a memorandum to conduct a re-validation of the these proposed Tulay ng Pangulo projects, yet they have no engineers to handle such activity, thus, engineers from DPWH were sent to provide technical assistance.
The construction of these two (2) proposed bridges will be very beneficial to the residents as it will facilitate faster and more convenient transport of products to the market centers.
