DPWH Celebrates 127th Anniversary with Renewed Pledge to Nation-Building

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) marked its 127th founding anniversary on Monday, June 23, 2025 with a renewed commitment to nation-building, anchored on excellence, unity, and service under the President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. administration’s “Build Better More” infrastructure initiative.

In his message during the celebration, DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan emphasized that the occasion was not merely a commemoration of the agency’s 127 years of existence, but a celebration of its progress, purpose, and the people behind its achievements.

New River Wall Strengthens Flood Protection in Ilocos Norte Towns

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a vital flood control project along the Padsan River in the towns of Sarrat and Piddig, Ilocos Norte — just in time for the upcoming rainy season.

In support of the “Build Better More” infrastructure program and in response to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s call for a whole-of-government approach to mitigate the effects of climate change, the project was undertaken by DPWH Ilocos Norte 1st District Engineering Office.
