The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a river control structures designed to mitigate flooding and ensure access in a remote barangay in Milagros town, Masbate Province.
DPWH Regional Office 5 Director Virgilio C. Eduarte, in his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, said that the project was built in the heart of Barangay Jamorawon which has long been prone to flooding and used to be inaccessible during rainy and typhoon season.

According to DPWH Region 6 Director Sanny Boy Oropel, the project involves the portland cement concrete paving of a two (2)-lane, 1.92-kilometer access road from Sitio Sapa, Barangay San Antonio leading to the training center in Barangay Sto. Angel.

The project costing P33.7 million expanded a 766-meter stretch of the existing two (2)-lane tertiary road by constructing additional lanes on both sides.
