DPWH Launches Concrete Girder for Guicam Bridge in Zamboanga Sibugay, Paving the Way for 2025 Completion

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has officially begun the installation of the pre-stressed concrete deck girder for the inter-island bridge that will significantly improve the link between Olutanga Island and the mainland in Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay Province.

In his inspection report to Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, Senior Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain highlighted the successful launch of four (4) pre-stressed concrete girders between abutment A and pier 1 of the ₱1.155 Billion Guicam Bridge Project along the Lutiman-Guicam-Mabuhay-Olutanga Road.

DPWH Extends Flood Control Project in Manila’s Baseco Compound

Residents of Baseco Compound in Port Area, Manila are the recent beneficiaries of a flood-control project implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing a report from DPWH National Capital Region Director Loreta M. Malaluan, said that the DPWH South Manila District Engineering Office has extended its slope protection project along the riverside of Baseco Compound by 272.8 linear meters, supplementing three (3) completed phases last year and early this year.
