The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) commenced the second phase of the protection works against rockslides in San Ricardo, Southern Leyte.

According to DPWH Southern Leyte District Engineer Ma. Margarita Junia, the P62-million project for the safety of residents and travelling public involves rock netting, provision of stone masonry crib walls, slope protection, and installation of metal guardrails along Bil-atan road section in Sitio Bil-atan, Camang Village, San Ricardo, Southern Leyte

Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar announced that the Estrella-Pantaleon Bridge and Binondo-Intramuros Bridge will start its construction by next week.

The two China Grant-Aid Bridges are financed by the People’s Republic of China through a bilateral cooperation with the Republic of the Philippines.

“The implementation of these bridges is scheduled to begin next week and will be accessible to the public by 2020,” Villar said.

Four (4) road sections along Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) and four (4) other roads in Metro Manila will be repaired effective 11 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2018 until 5 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2018.
