New Roads Await Locals in San Jorge and Calbayog City, Samar

Two (2) new roads were completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in San Jorge and Calbayog City, Samar that will further boost agricultural productivity and improve local connectivity in the area.

Completed in San Jorge is a two-lane, portland concrete cement pavement spanning 700 meters with 14.23 meters of stone masonry, which now connects Barangay Buenavista to Barangay Janipon.

The Philippines and Japan reaffirmed their strong partnership in advancing infrastructure development and exchanging expertise in innovative road and tunnel technologies during the 3rd Workshop on Technical and Business Cooperation for Road Construction and the Operation & Maintenance (O&M) of Road Tunnels and Related Facilities.

Slope Protection Structure to Boost Agriculture, Safety in Sta. Ignacia, Tarlac

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has successfully completed the construction of a flood control project, aimed at mitigating flood risks and supporting agricultural productivity along the Bayating River in the Municipality of Sta. Ignacia, Tarlac.

The completed P47-million project, funded under the 2024 General Appropriations Act (GAA), covers 136.10 linear meters of slope protection, including steel sheet piles, masonry works, and a parapet wall for enhanced flood control and soil stability.
