DPWH Completes Revetment Wall in Manapla, Negros Occidental

A newly-completed flood control project by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) now shields coastal communities in Manapla, Negros Occidental.

According to DPWH Region 6 Director Nerie D. Bueno, the new structure in Barangay Punta Mesa will prevent erosion along river banks and roads in the coastal barangay and its neighboring communities.

“The revetment wall will safeguard the lives, properties, and livelihoods of approximately 8,000 residents which are surrounded by different bodies of water including the Guimaras Strait,” Director Bueno said.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has recently completed a flood control project along Porac River to protect the nearby low-lying areas in Floridablanca, Pampanga against flooding during heavy rains.

The newly-built 171.3-lineal meter revetment wall along the Paguiruan Section of Porac River in Floridablanca town was constructed by the DPWH Pampanga Second District Engineering Office (DEO).

Low-lying communities in San Jose, Antique are now safe from the raging flood waters of Sibalom River with the completion of a flood control project by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Newly-Built Road Improves Mobility in Talavera, Nueva Ecija

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently completed the construction of a road that facilitates better access to Barangay Homestead in Talavera, Nueva Ecija.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing a report from DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino, said that the DPWH Nueva Ecija First District Engineering Office (DEO) paved 2.55-kilometer road in the community.

The newly-constructed road connects Barangay Homestead to the nearby Talavera Bypass Road, which is an alternate road that diverts vehicular traffic from the busy Daang Maharlika.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the new and modern Tamasak Arena Gym in Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo, the football capital of the Philippines.

Built at the entrance of Barotac Nuevo’s football field, the gym has a total floor area of about 10,000 square meters and can accommodate a maximum of 4,200 people, making it an excellent venue for major provincial and national sporting, cultural, social, and other events, such as Palarong Pambansa.

DPWH Convenes with PH Building Officials to Discuss National Building Code

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently met with the country’s building officials in a seminar-workshop aimed at refreshing and updating professionals’ knowledge on the National Building Code of the Philippines (NBCP).

Experts in NBCP administration and implementation attended the event organized by the DPWH – National Building Code Development Office (NBCDO) in collaboration with the Philippine Association of Building Officials, Inc. (PABO) held in Bai Hotel in Mandaue City, Cebu from October 17 to 21, 2022.
