DPWH Completes Revetment Wall in Manapla, Negros Occidental
A newly-completed flood control project by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) now shields coastal communities in Manapla, Negros Occidental.
According to DPWH Region 6 Director Nerie D. Bueno, the new structure in Barangay Punta Mesa will prevent erosion along river banks and roads in the coastal barangay and its neighboring communities.
“The revetment wall will safeguard the lives, properties, and livelihoods of approximately 8,000 residents which are surrounded by different bodies of water including the Guimaras Strait,” Director Bueno said.
