“We Heal as One” Center at ULTRA Finished in 3 Days

A 132-bed “We Heal as One” center was put up in three (3) days by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Pasig City as additional health facility to isolate and treat COVID-19 patients.

Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the DPWH expeditiously worked at the empty Philippine Sports Arena or popularly known as ULTRA and repurposed into isolation and treatment facility by setting up cubicles as makeshift hospital rooms.

DPWH Prepares Big Tents at Philippine Arena Complex for the Mega Quarantine Project

The Department of Public Works and Highways has started today the clearing and disinfection procedures in the three (3) mega tents prior to construction of “Heal as One” healthcare facilities at Ciudad de Victoria estate in Bocaue, Bulacan

Secretary Mark A. Villar said that workers from DPWH Region 3 were deployed at the mega tents owned by the Iglesia Ni Cristo for the clearing and cleaning activities in preparation for the modification works into quarantine center beginning Monday, April 20, 2020.

DPWH Cares for COVID Affected Employees

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) showed concern to its employees by providing some level of care and support in this time of health crisis.

Secretary Mark A. Villar said that DPWH extends financial assistance to help its employees including those under contract of service or job orders that are probable, suspected and confirmed infected by COVID-19 with an available fund in the amount of P4.27 million raised from personal contributions of officials and employees.

Conversion Begins for Filinvest Tent and ULTRA Quarantine Centers

Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar announced the start of works for two (2) additional quarantine facilities in Metro Manila.

Secretary Villar said that the Filinvest Tent in Muntinlupa City will be converted into a qurantine facility with 108 beds.

DPWH will also commence work for the building of quarantine center at the Philippine Institute of Sports Multi-Purpose Arena or Philsports Arena formerly ULTRA in Pasig City.

PICC health facility turned-over to PNP Medical Corps

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) turned-over on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Medical Corps the newly-completed health facility at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) Forum Halls in Pasay City.

According to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, the makeshift hospital at PICC Forum Tent has 294 patient cubicles, and 6 nurse stations.

A total of six(6) smart houses outside the Forum building were also turned-over to PNP to be used by health workers.

DPWH to Modify Mega Tents at Philippine Arena

LThe Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is working for the modification of three (3) mega tents at the Philippine Arena to be used as quarantine facility for COVID-19 patients.

Secretary Mark A. Villar sent on Monday, April 13, 2020, the DPWH Task Force on Augmentation of Healthcare Facilities headed by Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain to assess the three (3) mega tents inside the Philippine Arena’s Ciudad de Victoria complex owned by the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) in Bocaue, Bulacan.

DPWH Assists Lung Center Set-Up Video Surveillance and Monitors for Patients

New patient monitoring system is being installed at the Lung Center of the Philippines (LCP) with the assistance of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Acting on the request of Dr. Gloanne C. Adolor of the Lung Center and with instructions from Secretary Mark A. Villar, Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain reported that installation of closed-circuit television (CCTV) video surveillance and cardiac monitor for each of the 24 rooms of one (1) LCP ward for COVID patients has started on Tuesday, April 14, 2020.

DPWH, EEI and Villar Group Complete PICC Health Facility Construction in 7 days

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) with the support of private firms EEI Corporation and the Villar-led Vista Land Group have completed the construction works of the health facility at Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) Forum Halls in just 7 days.

Secretary Mark A. Villar announced that civil works for the makeshift hospital at PICC Forum Tent are already completed with 294 patient cubicles, 6 nurse stations, and 6 smart houses outside the Forum building for the health workers.

DPWH Facilitates Deliveries of DSWD Goods in Ilocos Region

In an effort to speed up the delivery of relief goods in various towns in Region 1, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has mobilized heavy equipment such as dumptrucks and tractor head trucks with trailer for transport assistance to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in its relief operations for families who have been affected by enhanced community quarantine.
