“What good can a road do?”
Such question has been answered by the residents of Purok Rosal and Purok Secret Love at Tigbao, Maragusan Compostela Valley Province upon the completion of their Farm to Market Road.
The once vast area of rice fields has been given a long overdue makeover via a concrete road that connects Purok Rosal and Purok Secret Love to the municipal proper. The said project started on May 27, 2016 under contract with LLM Concrete Products with a contract amount of P7, 682,070.03.
Residents of the two barangays were very thankful for the benefits that they are reaping from the construction of said road, “Mas okay jud na naa nay dalan diria kay mas dali namo mahatod amoang mga produkto sa palengke ug mas dali mi makaadto sa munisipyo kumpara atong daan namo na dalan na mutuyok pami ug layo,” Mr. Mario Untal a resident of Purok Rosal stated.
It has not only allowed them to transport their goods in a more convenient way, saving (20 minutes of their travel time), but it also offers them a linkage to other neighboring barangays and explore better opportunities.
Given these, roads do a lot of good for the people and the community as a whole. It creates connections, strengthens communication, develops trade and commerce, and improves lives that are vital to the growth of every community.
