4 Roads Still Closed due to Crising and Southwest Monsoon

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has reopened 12 national road sections that were closed due to Southwest Monsoon and Tropical Cyclone Crising, but four (4) road sections remain impassable while three (3) have limited access as of 6:00 am Monday, July 21, 2025.

1. Apayao (Calanasan)-Ilocos Norte Road, Tanglagan, Calanasan, Apayao, due to due to high water elevation;
2. Claveria-Calanasan-Flora-Lasam Road, Barangay Ninoy, Calanasan, Apayao, due to road cut;
3. Kennon Road, Camp 6, Tuba, Benguet, due to soil collapse; and
Liloy-Siocon Road, Tubongon, Baliguian, Zamboanga del Norte, due to landslide.

The following road sections have limited access:
1. Bigaa-Plaridel via Bulacan & Malolos Road, Barangay Panginay, Balagtas (Bigaa), Bulacan, passable to heavy vehicles only due to flooding;
2. Bato Bridge along Amungan – Palauig-Banlog Road, Barangay Bato, Palauig, Zambales, passable light vehicles only as precautionary measure; and
3. Diokno Highway, K0087+020, Batangas, passable to light vehicles only due to road slip.

Meanwhile, partial cost of damage to public infrastructure is now estimated at P526.81 million, from P195.52 damage to national roads, P9.04 million damage to bridges, and P322.25 million damage to flood control structures in Regions 6 and the Negros Island Region, subject for field validation.
